May 11th Climate Canvas and Picnic in the Park

Join us, 350 Seattle, Transit Riders Union, Amazon Employees for Climate Justice, and many others to help gather signatures for I-137, the ballot initiative to fund Seattle’s Social Housing Developer! Housing is a human right, and it's also a powerful Green New Deal solution. Social housing built by our developer would be to the highest energy efficiency standards known as Passive House. Well-connected, mixed-income and working-class neighborhoods near public transit, rooted by social housing, are key to building a low-carbon and eventually no-carbon city.

We will gather by the community center at 11am, have a brief volunteer training and a couple speakers from 350 Seattle and AECJ, then split off into groups to gather signatures from Seattle voters that want permanently affordable housing. Meet back at the community center at 2pm for a picnic in the park!

May 19th Signature Gathering with Seattle Neighborhood Greenways at Town Hall

Join us and Seattle Neighborhood Greenways to help gather signatures for I-137, the ballot initiative to fund Seattle’s Social Housing Developer! Town Hall is hosting a talk with Laura Jane and Jean Beaudoin on “how Seattle can borrow from North American peer cities to make its streets a better place to walk, bike, and roll”.

Apr. 26th 10,000 Signatures Party!

Thanks to all your support, we have secured signature from 10,000 of our neighbors about building social housing in Seattle. Everyone who has put up stickers, gathered signatures, wrote cards, designed materials, phone and text-banked, donated, and more are all invited: you made this milestone possible. 

Join us for a celebration of all your hard work and dedication to getting the Let's Build Social Housing voter initiative on the November ballot! We will have food and refreshments, and you will hear about your successful efforts and how you all can help to get this initiative on the ballot in November!
